ABOUT US

Aspen Ridge Christian Fellowship

CHURCH HISTORY

The first church building was a portable church constructed by Pastor Jack Blizzard in 1953; he and his wife Ruth were the founders of the Athabasca Apostolic Church known as the “Gospel Tabernacle”.  About 70 people attended the very first service where Isaac Thompson was the guest speaker.

In 1981 Muriel Olson donated land two miles south of Athabasca and a cedar log church was built there. It was officially dedicated on October 24,1982 as Aspen Ridge Christian Fellowship.

Our Mission

We serve Athabasca and the surrounding region through vibrant worship, spiritual formation, community outreach, prayer ministries, and leadership development.

The Pastors work as a team and bring a strength collectively, which they share with the leadership and congregation as a whole.  They are open to all who have questions or desire to grow in Spirit and in Truth.

Norma Pelletier

Elder

Norma and her husband Mike are very generous with their time and resources and are quick to volunteer when there is a need.

Marlin Johnson

Deacon

Marlin and his wife Anna have been apart of ARCF for quite some time and Marlin has offered his skills with numbers and accounting in the past as the church treasurer.  As a Deacon, he brings ideas and concepts with a different perspective and offers experience and knowledge that is very valuable to the decision making.  Marlin shows up when we have events where we are reaching out to help in the community or in practical hands on needs. Marlin enjoys helping out with the worship team; you will see him  behind the drum set on many a Sunday morning.

We are grateful for what Marlin and Anna bring to the church body.

Jeffrey Dalley

Deacon/Treasurer

Jeff came to ARCF in 2019 and didn’t take long getting involve in church events.  You will see him out to help at cleanups, dinners and in the sound booth. In 2022 Jeff took on the Treasurer position and also accepted a Deacon position.

Jeff brings to the table a career as a Certified General Account with back grounds in policy writing and of course a love for our Lord Jesus Christ.   Jeff is not afraid to step in when needed, he is a blessing and asset to ARCF.

Chris Elliott

Deacon

Chris and his wife Serena and their family joined ARCF a couple of years ago.  Chris has spent no time getting to know how things around ARCF work.  If you  time it right Chris could be the one greeting at the door, or you may get to hear him sing with the worship team.  Chris really is a team player and is there when you need him.  He is also a very good cook and baker!

ARCF is blessed to have Chris and his family with us!

And, side note, she can cook or bake anything…and well!

Chie Lapperie

We are so excited to see Chie’s ideas come to life for our Hospitality Ministry.
